Types of data we collect
Every time someone visits www.thecowco.com we use a third-party service called Google Analytics to collect internet log information, and details of visitor activity. This is so we can look at how visitors are using our site, allowing us to make improvements to the visitor experience. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone, and neither Google or ourselves will attempt to use this to find out the identities of any of our site visitors.
When you visit The Cow, we offer free guest Wifi. When you use this Wifi we collect your name, and your email address. This data is collected and stored securely by our service provider, Wightfibre.
When you register to receive our monthly e-newsletter, we collect some of your personal information. We use that information to contact you with marketing updates, offers, and news from The Cow, and also to check that our records are correct, and you are happy with the services you receive from us. We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
Our e-newsletter is delivered by a third-party provider, called Mailchimp. Their platform gathers statistics for us on email opening and clicks, so we can keep improving them for our subscribers in the future. For more information you can read Mailchimp’s privacy notice here.
If you no longer want to receive our e-newsletters, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you make an online booking through The Cow website, or by calling us direct, your name, address data, email address and contact details will be stored in our third-party booking system, Bookatable.
